simple party favors

Remember Ryan and Karolyn? They got married last weekend (so, so, so great!). Before the big day, I hosted a bridal shower for Karolyn and pulled together a very quick & easy party favor gift for all those in attendance. I wanted to share it with you guys – naturally – because I know that party favor ideas can come in handy from time to time. This is not wedding specific. In fact, this could be great for a kids’ birthday party, a baby shower … you name it!

I love sending notes to people and I love encouraging others to send a handwritten note to someone once in a while. In fact, if you missed my blog post entitled Sunday Notes, it’s a quick read and might get your wheels spinning.

So here’s how I did it. You can adjust quantities according to your needs, such as how many people are coming to your next party.

I bought four different packs of notecards at Target. They were all the same size / brand but just different styles. Based on the number of guests for this occasion, I had a couple packs of each style.

First thing I did is set up little piles of each card style so I could pull one from each pile / style with the idea in mind that each guest would get a little collection of four cards.

I printed quick notes that just say, “Thank you for celebrating with Karolyn! Use these notecards to send a thank you, a compliment, a just-because note….” and I cut those out to be the same size as the cards.

Next up: Pull one card from each stack and group together the four cards + the four envelopes + the little note to place on top.

I clipped the little set together with a tiny silver office clip. So cute and so easy to find at Target / Wal-Mart / office supply store.

That’s it, friends. Simple. Quick. Meaningful. And encourages positive action! For the bridal shower, I placed them in this thing I found at Home Goods. And while I’m mentioning “where I got what” … my blouse and necklace are both from Charming Charlie.  ; )

A lovely little effective idea. You really need to have card & envelope sets of your own to compliment your range.

That is a terrific idea! I am getting ready to host a Bunco game at my house in a few months, and we always do prizes. I found several Project Life Mini Kits on sale at Hobby Lobby, so that is what all the winners are getting! :) I think I’ll add a mini album for the big winner. I also have several theme kits that came together in a set I bought from HSN, and I am thinking about mixing them up to give to everyone as party favors. Putting them together with a note and little binder clip like you did the notecards would be perfect! :)

I love your blog (even if it makes me usually hugrny and leaves me wishing not to be so far away from all these cupcakes) but never left a comment so far – I am a bit afraid of making embarassing mistakes since English is not my first language…But I couldn’t believe they were no comments for the Naruto cupcakes yet, and as an old fan of this blond ninja, I felt like I should be “loyal”… So! First comment from me on a blog in my whole internet life! The cupcakes look great, so colourful and fun! I love the idea with making them resemble Narutos hair! (Although I needed to read the text to get it)
