episode description

Sometimes life can come at you unexpectedly. Other times, we wonder why we are lead in a certain direction. We invited Wendy Howe (BH Customer Service) to share a personal experience about how her family came to be … through adoption. But this episode isn’t “about” adoption, necessarily. The goal is to help illustrate how experiences in our life that we just “don’t get” … that just don’t seem to make sense … very much are stepping stones to incredible things that are supposed to happen in our life.

This episode’s guest is Wendy Howe, Customer Support at BH. Her Instagram is @hendywow and this is her gorgeous family. Two more grandchildren have joined the family since this picture!

Wendy wanted to talk to us about how her family became a family. It all started when she met the love of her life, Loren Howe.

Above: You are very, very welcome for this. That’s all we have to say.

Above: Brooklyn and Porter after the adoption was finalized. Below: A recent picture of Brooklyn and Porter.

“Sometimes God’s plan for our life is so much bigger and greater than we could plan for ourselves.”

Think about your own story. Think about what you’ve gone through in the past that has led you to somewhere (or someone) that may have otherwise never been a part of your life.

Recognize that the things you are going through right now, as difficult as they may be, unfold for a reason.

She smells good! We mentioned a few times about how good Wendy smells. She uses a vanilla bean fragrance from an interesting store in Phoenix called Lotions and Potions. Lucky for you, we found a link to their online store here!

This was my most favorite episode so far and I’ve really loved all the other ones. This epsisode is so close to my heart because we have two sons through the miracle of adoption. I LOVED Wendy’s story-the struggles, the hope, the faith and most of all the love. My husband and I struggled with infertility for years before changing our path and if it weren’t for our struggles we wouldn’t be the parents of our two amazing sons. Thank you for sharing this podcast and shedding some light on this topic. It really touched my heart.

  2. I just finished binge listening (over the last 4 days) to the first 7 podcasts and oh my goodness! I’ve loved them all. I have to say that this episode literally brought tears to my eyes. I had to leave my desk and go for a walk to sort through all the feelings. Thank you Wendy for sharing your story. You have a beautiful family and you and your husband are amazing people. Thank you.

I absolutely LOVED this episode!!! I have loved all the episodes so far but this one is as of now my favorite favorite! Wendy, you are amazing! I love that you shared this story, how you shared your struggles with the foster and adoption process. I literally cried when you told the part about how Brooklyns foster mom was arrested. So sad!! Becky and Becky you guys are amazing and I love that you guys are doing these podcasts! Thank you!

I just started listening to the podcasts from the beginning on Jan 1. Thank you for continuing to find wonderful stories to tell. One really cool take away from the last few episodes, is that we get to know the BH staff better through their stories and now when I watch current Instagram stories…I feel more connected to y’all! Keep up the great work and thank you!
