I was born + raised in Bergen, Norway, which is the city in Norway with the most rain! I moved across the country five years ago. And although I miss my family, friends, and the lovely nature in Bergen (it’s not far from where the inspiration to the movie Frozen is from), I do like that there’s a little more sun here, outside Oslo. My mother is from the Philippines and my father is Norwegian. But since I have never lived in the Philippines, I feel mostly Norwegian.
My family now consists of my husband and our two sons: Fredrik (toddler) and Jonas (baby).
The way I use Project Life is to document our life together. I don’t follow any rules. I make spreads that are from a whole vacation or pictures taken only a few minutes apart. I sort them by date, but I don’t have pages from every week of the year. I make pages of the pictures that inspire me. So some weeks could even have several pages.
I don’t use a lot of embellishments, and I don’t like the pages to be too crowded. I am more a fan of the minimalist style. I try to be better at journaling, but I really don’t like my handwriting, so they are mostly printed.
To me, documenting life is to capture the good moments. It is so easy to forget things, so I document my life to look back at and smile. I also document so my relatives can see more of our life since we now live so far from each other.
Three things on my bucket list are:
1. Write a book.
2. Take my drivers license test (yes, I know!).
3. Bring my kids to the Philippines. They should see where our family is from and I also want to go back to meet my family there.
Cultivating a good life means for me to be with the people I love, eat good food, travel, and keep up with my hobbies. It also means to notice the little things and be happy with the everyday, busy life!
