Deena Rutter

When I was a child, my walls were covered with pushpins holding up my illustrations. Most of my afternoons were spent drawing and designing at my architect desk. I began scrapbooking as a young teen. Adding my personal touch with original artwork and headers on each page took forever! What I would have given to have Project Life back then.

Having a creative outlet has always helped me keep my individuality in tact. I was lucky enough to find this creative avenue designing in the craft industry. This freelance journey designing from home has produced products for Sizzix, Cuttlebug, Cricut, Fancy That Dies, Crate Paper, My Mind’s Eye, Echo Park Paper, Carta Bella Paper Company, and Riley Blake Fabric. I was ecstatic to design the Coral Edition for Project Life.

A few random facts:

• In my next life I want to be a back-up singer. I love going to small venue concerts and I am always secretly hoping I will somehow get called up on stage for the chance!
• I design fabric but can barely sew a straight line, nor do I have the patience to follow a pattern.
• I have a strong internal need to have cool beverage close by me at all times (Diet Coke or Crystal Light preferred). Skinny straw is a must.
• I love collecting inspiring pretty things like notebooks, postcards of museum art I have seen in person, blown glass ornaments, and wall hooks to name a few!
