Pocket Scrapbooking with Project Life

Cultivate a good life and record it.

aspiring designer charlotte

Say hello to Charlotte. She is a 13-year-old Project Lifer with plans to use the new Honey Edition that is coming soon. Charlotte recently emailed us and this is too precious not to share (with her permission, of course).

I’m Charlotte. I’m 13 years old and I’m from a small town in England called Rotherham. I know this is completely out of the blue and you’ll probably say no. But if I don’t ask I’ll never know. I’d really like to design a core/mini kit.

I wanted to contribute to such a wonderful idea to help all the scrapbookers in the entire world, to document their life to pass through generations to come. If you gave me this opportunity, I would call the kit ‘Tea Party’ it would be filled with cupcakes and tea and other English things. As you have some great kits but none of them really have an English theme.

Also I don’t think any of the designers are English. So I would love to show the English culture through one of your fabulous core/mini kits. Please take my e-mail under consideration and I would love to hear from you in the future about designing a core/mini kit together.

Thank you for coming up with this amazing idea and I would love to be a part of it.

Yours Faithfully

As if that wasn’t adorable enough … Charlotte even shared with us her initial sketches for the kit she wants to design. Seriously – how cute is she, right??

  32. Kim says:

WOW, I say give her a go! What an Amazing young lady!!

  33. How about a digital mini kit. That way you don’t have much cost upfront and then yoy can test if it’s popular enough :-)
    Good for you Charlotte.

    • Laura says:

I agree. It would be very costly (and slow) to do a proper ‘paper’ kit but a digital kit- although there’s a lot of time and work that goes into it- would be much cheaper and quicker and you wouldn’t have to guess at production quantities. The kits are generally ‘coolour’ themed but I think one that features an imagery/icon based theme, like you often get with traditional scrapbooking would be a nice change and a real hit.

  34. Andrea says:

Great work Charlotte!!! I would so buy a tea party/english themed kit.

  35. Melissa says:

I want one too!! I do traditional not digital thought. Way to go Charlotte!

    Louise xx

  41. Alisha says:

This would make an amazing special edition mini kit especially if you donate the proceeds to a children’s charity. Even in the U.S. it would sale it’s adorAble just as it is!

  42. Kendra says:

Oh my goodness! She is ABSOLUTELY adorable! I would ABSOLUTELY buy the tea party kit! My daughter and her Nana always drink tea together and this would be the perfect kit to use for those pictures. I REALLY hope to see this kit in the near future. :)

  50. arlene says:

Charlotte is so right…she’ll never know unless she asks! what a great idea. I think she’s on to something…maybe not a specific British kit but a “world” mini kit…with cards that represent different traditions from around the world. Or you could do a special edition user-sponsored kit where users design a card that is voted on and the most popular cards go into a kit. But I don’t know the logistics it would take to make it work…but I do think Charlotte is on to something because America is not the world.

  51. Esther says:

I would buy this kit because she is adorable and because England is one of my favorite places in the world.

  52. Rene says:

Charlotte – what an inspiration you are to girls everywhere! Good for you daring to ask the questions! The tea party kit could be so versatile, from little girls tea parties to grown up tea party themed showers! What a great idea – bring on the Tea Party and the Project Life British Invasion!

  53. Teri M says:

I can see her design being a hit as a for kids by kids version!!!

  54. Robin Gibson says:

GO Charlotte! What a great idea, & super cute & fun preliminary designs! I think your kit is a hit! I know I’d buy it!

  55. Beth says:

    Are you accepting pre-orders?

  56. Jamie M. says:

SO SO CUTE!! Please add me to the pre-order list :).

  57. omigosh! she is so adorable! looking forward to her possible future! love her quotes.

  58. alisa says:

What a fabulous idea, Charlotte! Project Life needs a kit with a little English inspiration! I spent the first 4 years of my marriage living in Reading, England and we welcomed our first son while living abroad. I would LOVE to put some of those photos from those precious years into a mini album (or even a great big album!) with cards with a bit of British flair!

  59. Tash says:

This is fabulous – you definitely need to run with this. To have the confidence/guts to do this as a 13-year old – I take my hat off to her. And it would be lovely to have some English theme cards :-)

  60. Kerrin says:

Count me in for Charlotte’s kit! Gotta love a girl who knows what she wants and goes for it.

  61. Rebecca Oley says:

Personally I think she is quite spot on! Little Miss is quite right in that if one doesn’t try, one never knows! I think it would be a great idea!

  62. She is SO darn cute and I think I would buy her kit.

  63. Janet K says:

She is awesome! I love it!

  64. Pat says:

Way cool! My grand daughter would LOVE a kit like this! She’s 10 and does some scrapbooking with us, but THIS would REALLY appeal to her – and leave it in her handwriting!

  65. laura g. says:

SIGN HER UP!!! love her spunk and ideas!!

  66. Karen Kelly says:

Make her dream come true, Becky!

  67. Jennifer says:

This is so precious! Way to believe in yourself, Charlotte!

  68. Rachel says:

Hi i am not British, i’m an Aussie and we have some cute little cupcake cafe’s here and that kit would be great for documenting Tea with friends, i went to Melbourne for a week and one of the highlights was the little cupcake cafe’s with Friends.
love the concept, way to go sweet girl. Becky I hope you give her idea a go.

  69. Traci says:
