album label inspiration

Most of our albums come with a handy metal label holder on the spine so you can add the details of whatever may be contained in your album – a full year of memories, a specific vacation, a record of a specific child’s history, holidays, or whatever event you may have documented. In the past we offered album labels on our website that coordinated with each of our editions that you could download and print to include in those label holders, but our newer albums actually contain a designer label in the holder already! Our ever-growing product line also makes it nearly impossible for us to keep up with creating and adding those to the website.

In an effort to provide you with inspiring ways to document and use our products, we wanted to share with you an idea that we received from a customer – Melissa Doherty in Salina, Kansas. She said:

I love including photos on the outside of my albums along with the kids’ ages. It’s fun to see the side-by-side comparisons and growth – all at one glance and on one shelf!

We love that idea, as well, and asked if a few of our creative team members might have something similar to share with you. Boy, did they do a lovely job!

Donna Meuli used cards from the Lovely Mini Kit for the baby labels and the Cut and Paste Mini Kit for the holiday album label. They are made digitally with the photos being printed directly onto 3×4 White Cards.

So cute! That’s a great idea. You could easily make photo labels with words on your phone or any easier free program like Picasa too. Thanks for the inspiration!

I bought some of the older 6×8 binders which did not have a spine label holder. I would really welcome some ideas on how to label these – stickers don’t stay on and look messy. Any plans for PL-branded stick-on label holders?!

These are great and look awesome…however, I have about 50 albums to label and I do not have photoshop and really just want to do a simple label that I can create on my computer in a simple document format if that makes any kind of sense? I am not the most tech savvy so would love for someone to give me any easy way to do this on my iMac desktop.
