7 ways to use project life cards during the holidays
I am sure some of you have extra Project Life® cards just sitting around and you’re wondering what you should do with them. Or maybe you have seen some of our great holiday card kits and you can’t resist buying each and every one (it’s okay, we love them, too!). Either way, we wanted to share with you some of our ideas that you can implement this holiday season using Project Life cards.
Using holiday-themed cards, red twine, and mini clothespins, this garland took no time at all to put together. An even easier version would be to punch small holes in the corners of the cards and string them directly onto the twine. For this garland, we used the Deck the Halls Value Kit, but you could really use any of the kits depending on your style!
Project Life cards are the perfect size to use as gift tags. Simply write on the tag who the gift is for and from, then attach to any gift using ribbon, twine, or yarn! The simple tag design pictured here is from the Merry and Bright Mini Kit.
Many of us here in the office like to purchase a new Christmas book each year for our families. We know many others do the same! Why not make it just a little more special by adding a sweet note to the inside of the front cover and tell your kids/grandkids why this book means something to you. For years to come that note will be a small reminder of that Christmas and why that book was chosen! We love any opportunity for documenting memories and this is an easy one. For this project we used the Hello December 2015 Edition.
Neighbor Treat Tag
We know that many that many of you like to deliver a small treat or gift to your neighbors; so do we! This year, why not add a custom look to each package by tying a Project Life card to each package using a piece of twine or ribbon? We are about simplifying and what could be more simple than that? For this treat bag we used the Oh What Fun Christmas Value Kit.
There are many different types of advent calendars available to purchase, but why not customize your own advent calendar to exactly what your family likes to do during the holidays? All you need are mini kraft paper bags, Project Life cards, mini clothespins, and some candy to complete this custom advent calendar that can be used year after year! For each day in the month of December, there is a card with the day of the month on one side and an activity/service on the other side. Inside of each bag, your kids will find a fun treat or other surprise each day. They will have so much fun opening their bags and seeing what treat is inside, plus being able to do the activity/service each night. For this calendar we used the Hello December 2015 Edition.
12 Days of Christmas Garland
The 12 Days of Christmas is another countdown activity leading up to Christmas day. With just some small favor bags, mini clothespins, twine or ribbon, and Project Life cards, you have everything you will need for this project. Embellish the outside of the favor bag with cute embellishments found in the Deck the Halls Value Kit. Then write activities or acts of service on Project Life cards and slide them into the favor bags. For the 12 days leading up to Christmas, pull out one card each night and do what it says to do on the cards. Those cards can then be clipped to the front of each favor bag to give the garland a whole new look! We used the Seasons Core Kit for the cards in this project.
Notes to Santa/From Santa
Do your kids like to leave a note on Christmas Eve to Santa and the reindeer like ours do? Have you ever thought of having them write their note on a Project Life card? This sweet memory can be kept forever and slid right into the pockets of your Project Life album. What a great memory as these cards will be kept forever in perfect condition within your album and what fun you will have comparing the notes from year to year! Your kids can also leave a blank card out for Santa to write back, once again allowing you to slide that card right into your album after he has left his note! For these notes we used the Merry and Bright Mini Kit, but any cards will do!
Whatever fun you are working on this holiday season, we sure hope this has given you a few ideas you can easily implement, using Project Life cards! Incase you hadn’t seen it yet, many of these card kits are featured as Becky’s Picks this week, which means they can be purchased for 25% off all week – now isn’t that a great reason to get working on some of these projects?
