Most of you reading this are Project Lifers – folks who are cultivating a good life and recording it – and using Project Life® to bring it all together. We think that makes you pretty special, and we think that your experience should be shared nationwide, and in your local areas (ex – newspapers, TV shows).

We are looking for individuals who have not really kept a traditional scrapbook before and/or someone who has not scrapboooked in several years, but perhaps you have returned to memory-keeping because of Project Life®. If this is you, or you want to nominate a friend – please email your name, city, state, and phone number to submissions@beckyhiggins.com. Also share a few sentences or short paragraph about your “story” of how Project Life has been so helpful to you in your efforts to get photos into an album. Including a picture of one of your Project Life layouts would be extra cool too.

If you are selected, you will be contacted. Ready, set … send us an email!

Hello, My name is Michelle and I thought I’d submit my little story on scrapbooking.

I have always loved keeping memories, it started with scrapbooks I kept for myself in High School and moved on with my first child’s baby book. I always believe that keeping baby books is a sort of scrapbooking. As they grew up, I used baseball card holders to record their school days. It was easier and sometimes more simple to do. I put their wallet pictures, year by year, their school IDs, and other small simple items into these pages.

As time went on, I moved onto traditional scrapbooking but with having four kids all active in various school functions, I no longer had time to scrap. The only scrapbooking I did from here on out were small albums for family members at Christmas.

When my children all graduated from school, I had boxes of their things and needed a way to scrap their memories. I started off the traditional way again and just couldn’t get into it. I also found Pinterest which lead to these amazing cards people were creating. I clicked on a link to the Becky Higgins blog and was in awe of how easy you had made it for me. [Especially since I did similar years and years ago with baseball card holders] Becky, you have brought an idea I had in my head to life as well as a bit of an added touch I didn’t think of doing.

I’ve have now been scrapbooking with Project Life for a year and also brought my sisters into scrapbooking this way. I am so grateful!

    Thank you,
    Michelle

  2. I have not paper scrapbooked in several years since I went to work full time after my husband was in a big truck wreck in 2007. I kept taking pictures and digital scrapping some of them to share on facebook and through email with my family but very rarely can afford to get all those pages printed since he is on disability now.
Just this year I told him for my late Christmas present that I wanted the Project Life binder and page protectors and he bought it for me from our income tax return. Then I started on it in March and got a couple bundles of pictures printed. I was able to catch up pretty quickly and I am so excited that for the first year in years we are getting our pictures in an album for the kids and grand-kids to see! Thanks for making such a fabulous system that is so quick and easy for extremely busy mom’s like me! This has inspired me and I am now back to scrapbooking a little each day and it really feels good to feed my creativity again.

I’m glad you found Project Life also, had you not, we’d have never met and have so much fun with scrapbooking. You’re awesome!

  3. Hi! I’d love the opportunity to talk about what Project Life has meant to me. I was not a scrapbooker when I learned about PL in late 2011, and picked up a core kit, page protectors and an album on Amazon.com and figured I’d give it a try. I almost never print my photos out, so they’re just sitting on our hard drive, and I knew there had to be a better way to enjoy them. I also wanted to capture the cool things my 2 year old was doing, as a fairly new mom, and figure out a better way to document them than on random scraps of paper I kept losing.

Once I started Project Life I was HOOKED. As I got more confident with it, I used other paper and embellishments mixed in with the core kits. I bought more core kits :) I am so proud to have completed 2012, and am halfway through our 2013 album. Our parents LOVE looking through it when they visit, because they miss so much of the day-to-day with their grandchildren. My friends like looking at it because they’re not crafty at all and they think it’s neat.

I’ve been blogging about my pages here: http://houseofpeanut.blogspot.com/search/label/project%20life

I’m a traditional scrapbooker, but thought I’d like to try the Project Life Series. I have bought 2 Project Life Kits and signed up for some Mini Project Life Kits which it being mailed to me monthly. I haven’t started mine yet. I’ve been following Becky and looking on Pinterest to get ideas on how it works and what it will be like. I’m hopefully going to start my 1st Project Life Book soon.

Is this only for traditional Project Life folks? I started in 2012, but I’m a Shutterfly Project Lifer.

  6. Chris R says:

I have been scrapbooking for years, but was so frustrated with the process and all of the time that it takes. I was always worried about the design and all of the embellishments and not so much in the stories. I have 11 grandchildren so I wanted a way to keep memories up to date and somewhere to keep the fun things that they give me. I started PL this year and am loving it. I have found that the best part of PL is that I am telling more stories and am keeping up to date (I am currently 2 weeks behind). PL is very freeing!! I am planning to go back and do 2012. My plan is to also start an album for each grandchild and just put a few pages a year in it and then give it to them when they graduate. Thank you Becky for creating such a great product and way of documenting life.
