Stampin’ Up! creative team call

A few months ago, we put out a Creative Team call and landed our team of 25 talented ladies from all over the world using our products in a variety of ways from physical products to digital and even a few using our app. We love these ladies and are already so impressed with the inspiration they are sharing with us and with you!

Our partners at Studio Calico have their own team of creative artists who are using their new Project Life® kit each month to show the versatility of those designs and they also do a phenomenal job of inspiring people to use the beautiful products being delivered on their doorstep every month.

As we continue to evaluate the inspiration we share, we’ve noticed a gap when it comes to sharing our Stampin’ Up! product line … even though we love it so much and often have our creative team members take on extra projects and assignments (like those we shared yesterday). So we’ve decided that it’s time to find a handful of people to create samples exclusively with the products that we offer through Stampin’ Up! and we’d love for you to be one of them!!

{ how we are building the new Creative Team }

Just as with our previous call, our Creative Team opportunity is open to all – from well-known scrapbookers to everyday documenters who may only share their work with family + friends. All demographics and ages are welcomed and encouraged to apply. Please be aware that those selected will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Stampin’ Up! (since you will receive products ahead of release date), so if you are uncomfortable doing that, this may not be the right opportunity for you.

{ what it means to be on the Project Life Creative Team }

Creative Team members are asked to do what they normally do with Project Life, true to their own personal style. With the Stampin’ Up! Team, you will create layouts or projects using each of our products before (and sometimes after) they are released so we can use them for inspirational and marketing efforts. Once in a while there may be a “special assignment,” but really, we don’t ask much. We even reward you with regular emails from me. *wink* Expectations will be more clearly defined with the final Creative Team when they are chosen.

And, of course, you’ll be sent lots of Project Life by Stampin’ Up! goodies during the year while you are a part of the Creative Team. Isn’t that the best part?

{ what are we looking for? }

As with our other team members, here’s what will get you noticed … no matter what your life circumstances or where you live. We are looking for:

1. Fantastic photography. You could be a fascinating person with a super-interesting life, but if your pictures aren’t great, it’s not really the perfect fit for our Creative Team. We are looking for pictures that are clear, crisp, and interesting and that have good lighting and excellent quality. You don’t have to be a professional photographer, but you need to have some skill behind the lens. And we know many of you do.

2. Great story-telling. You don’t necessarily have to be a stellar writer … the little Journaling Cards are only so big, right? No – we are talking about the story-telling that happens with the way you document your life, primarily through your photographs. So not only do we want fantastic photography, but we would love to be inspired by how you photograph, what you take pictures of, and how well you illustrate experiences in your life through your lens. This doesn’t mean that your life itself needs to be perceived as anything but what it is. You could be a world traveler or a stay-at-home mom and that doesn’t matter. What matters is that you capture our attention through how you document life.

3. Use of product. Naturally, we are looking for folks who make Project Life products look good. We are also looking for SIMPLICITY. The goal with our team is to inspire people with the simplicity of our products – because that’s the whole nature of Project Life. Slip photos and cards into pockets and you’re done. Sticking with Project Life Cards along with our Photo Pocket Pages is all you need to get onto our Creative Team. It will really be your photography and story-telling that will capture our attention the most. Our product line has grown tremendously in the past two years, so we feel it is possible to stick with the basics of our product line and achieve fantastic results. Please don’t feel like if you do a little embellishing here & there, your chances will be slim. That’s not the case. We’d just like to see our products paired with your photos. Our embellishments through Stampin’ Up! are so fun you’ll want to incorporate them a bit.

4. Layout photography. The actual photos of your Project Life layouts need to be excellent. Good lighting, very clean & clear, no flash, no distracting background. You see, we don’t require our Creative Team to part with their pages so we can scan or photograph them. Instead, we ask that they photograph the layouts and projects themselves – and that’s why it’s imperative that your layout photos are awesome. If you want to see how our current Creative Team photographs their layouts, check them out by clicking around on their various blogs or by searching our website for “creative team inspiration.”

{ how to submit }

Email submissions to creativeteam@beckyhiggins.com and include the following with your email:

– name

– location (city, state, country)

– links to all things YOU (website, blog, shop, gallery, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever)

– a little about you (single, married, kids, no kids, empty nester, teenager … whatever) – short + sweet, please.

– 3 to 5 images of layouts you have completed (remember – see #4 above as this will have a big impact on your first impression with us)

The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 27.

Specifically, our cut-off will be at midnight Pacific time that day. If you are chosen to be on our Creative Team, we will personally contact you before March 13th.

If you have any questions at all about submitting to be on our Creative Team, you can email kari@beckyhiggins.com. If your question is GENERAL and something that perhaps others would likely want to know as well, simply leave a comment and we’ll do our best to answer questions here (publicly) also.

GOOD LUCK … We can’t wait to see what you have to share with us!!

    Hii! This is an awesome opportunity! Thank you! I have been using the project life app a lot and haven’t been able to print the pages, because I’m from the Philippines. Can I use those layouts from the app? How can I send them through email if I can’t take an actual photo? Can I do it w the snapshot w the iphone?:)

  3. Julie says:

    Are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators allowed to apply/be on the team?

  4. Diane says:

    Hi again..i just figured it out, I can email the layout after I export it. Am I right? Hehe. Can I do that?

    • Kari Holt Kari Holt says:

      Hi Diane!
      We aren’t currently looking to add team members who are specifically using the app since we already have a few on our current team representing the app. That being said, if you want to include pages from the app along with photos of other physical layouts that you’ve created, you can certainly do that :)

  5. Kelsy says:

    Are you looking for people who only use physical products or are digital layouts okay too?

    • Kari Holt Kari Holt says:

      For this particular call we are looking for people to use our physical products that will be provided by Stampin’ Up! We will be looking for more digital team members with our annual creative team call later this fall :)

  6. Wendy says:

    Wondering the same thing as Julie–are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators able to apply?

  7. Melissa says:

    Is it required to have a blog to apply?

    • Kari Holt Kari Holt says:

      You are not required to have a blog in order to be a part of our team. Of course, it offers a great way for you to share more or your work, but isn’t a requirement :)

  8. bonnie says:

    I only have my website through SU! I also was wondering if current SU! demonstrators can apply. You mentioned the disclosure we would need to sign, does is interfere with our demonstrator status?

  9. Mandi says:

    Hello! I was just wondering if app users could apply as well. I discovered the app a few short months ago and have loved designing pages. Please let me know if I can apply to be a part of the Creative Team. Thanks.

    Does anyone know how to provide links of oneself for facebook and pinterest???

    • Mandi says:

      Look in your settings on both apps. It will tell you what your profile name is. Let me know if you more details on specifically how to do that!

  11. Julie says:

    Hey….asking again….can Stampin up demonstrators be part of the team?

  12. Markay says:

    The layouts that we submit, do they have to be using the Stampin’ Up physical product or can they be any physical PL product?

  13. Julie K says:

    Please can you let us know if you have chosen a DT using the Stampin Up products as yet? I am really keen to see and have customers needing some inspiration too!

  14. Catherine says:

    Hi there Ms. Becky. I’m from the Philippines and I really wanted to purchase your stampin up products. Is there a way I can do that? I see it’s still not available in our country, but can I have it shipped? Thank You and More Power!
