shutterfly has new project life editions!

Last year we announced that the Clementine Edition and Turquoise Edition were available as photo books at Shutterfly. We answered lots of your questions about this new option in this blog post (please note our digital products are now available at AC Digitals rather than jessicasprague.com as was listed at the time). The fabulous Brandi answered even more of your Shutterfly questions here.

Today we are delighted to announce that the Olive Edition, Mayfield Edition, and the Bridgeport Edition have been added to the list of photo books available for you to create! With even more features added to the Custom Path process – our favorite being the ability to choose/import photos directly from Instagram+ Facebook – it is even easier to create a photo book that you will love.

This is a peek at the Olive Edition:

Note: You may remember that we added a Design A style layout to the idea pages in the Clementine and Turquoise Editions shortly after those were released last year. We are currently working with Shutterfly to include a Design A option for each of the 3 new photo book editions. We are hoping for those to be added sometime in June. Yes, we’ll let you know as soon as that page layout is available.

I am so glad you have Design A – but if you are working with them to get all this great stuff, can you try seeing if they can get any of your other Design templates as well? I hate to ask for TOO much, but it would be nice! :) Thanks for all you do to make keeping memories something I can ACTUALLY do! :)

I agree with the reader who asked for all the page layout options. If we’re asking, we’re going to want them all! Thanks!

Love, love, LOVE!!! I’ve been putting off actually ordering one of these and I’m so glad I did. The Bridgeport will soon be on my coffee table with family photos. Thank you, once again, Becky for making my life a lot more easy, but still creative and colorful!

    Becky,
Thank you! You have changed the world of scrapbooking for the better! I love love love PROJECT LIFE! It actually gets my pictures in an album for the family to enjoy!

I just checked it out, but it looks like they’re only available in 8×8 and $99 for 20 pages (MUCH more than their regular price). Is this true? I really hope not as I prefer to make my books 12×12 and the cost would be prohibitive.

I checked on Shutterfly and I think you are right Jen. I was so shocked at that price. a 12×12 would be 169.99. that sounds way too much. :(

    • Sandy and Jen–looks like you were looking at a premium (lay-flat) book versus a hardcover book. Shutterfly’s site isn’t terrible intuitive, and they have it automatically default to premium and until you click on hardcover (the second option down on the left) you don’t see the better prices. IT’s definitely confusing…..Just take a look at the left hand side of your window once you click on custom path…you will notice three options premium, hard cover, and soft cover. It’s after that that you are able to select style and one of the PL editions.

    • Jen says:

Thank you for your feedback, Heather. I have ordered Shutterfly books before (and am waiting for a Clementine one to be delivered right now) and love them. I was freaked out that they would be so expensive ($99 for 20 pages- because I never do 20 pages!). I think the link took me directly to the lay flat option. I couldn’t even find a 12×12 version yesterday. Today I found it and it is normal priced. I always wait until I can get at least 40% off. I can’t wait to try the Bridgeport version!

  6. Kim says:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I have been doing Project Life since 2009, when it was Project 365, and I love it! Last year, I used Shutterfly (Turquoise), and WOWZA! It was fantastic. I’m using the Clementine this year, and, if possible, it is even better. I think I’m going to use the Bridgeport edition to record our homeschool weeks next fall, and one of the others for 2014 Project Life. So excited!

As for people concerned about size and price, when I “started” a book just now (really, just to check it out), it was already in a 12X12 format for 32.99 for 20 pages. That does make a full PLife album considerably more than $100; I can’t remember what I paid for my 2012 one, but $169 sounds about right. However, Shutterfly has 40 and 50% sales all the time, and I always wait for one of those sales to order, which is a much better deal (obviously). And when I consider the fact that I have paid nothing for pictures or for design elements up to that point AND that the whole process was so, so easy, I think the product is more than worth the price I pay!

    Thanks again, Becky!

  7. HeatherC says:

If it helps I echo the original comment…PLEASE more sample layouts of the other templates!!!! Then I don’t have to make my own!

  8. Amy says:

I am so thrilled to hear this, I was just going to try to figure out the AC Digitals because I want to make a PL album, but the convenience of Shutterfly is what I need for all the pics I want to include at this point. So wonderful thank you thank you :)

  9. I’m glad for 3 new designs available @ Shutterfly. Currently, I am working on the Turquoise Edition to document our last vacation. I have used some of the stuff and modified other ones; so far I’m happy and looking forward keep working on Shuterfly. I also do some “traditional” scrapbooking… I have a romance with paper and embellishments, my favorite thing is ribbon, but I like simple-clean layouts like what you used to do for your CK assignment. Anyway, my emphasis is on the pictures and documenting the moment; recovering the who/what/when/ how/ where for old-vintage photos that have anything to do with our family or close friends…. I am so looking forward to use some of your team’s beautiful and creative ideas. Congratulations.

  10. Olive is so perfect with that beach photo! They all look great.

So happy to see these new additions added. Would be SO, SO, SO happy if the baby editions were added too. Do you think that might happen in the future?

Can someone please tell me where you found the Design a Template for the shutterfly books? Is this one of their templates available in Custom Path? I looked under all the # of photo options, but couldn’t find it. Thanks in advance!!!

  15. I’m sitting down right now to start our 2012 yearbook – what is the exact book/style you used on Shutterfly? I so appreciate all your inspiration!
