What does the Project Life kit include?
Getting Started & Keeping up with the Project.Once you receive your kit, you may want to go ahead and start slipping everything into the page protectors. Or you may want to just put the album together one day at a time or one photo at a time or a week at a time or a month at a time. There is no wrong or right way. Do what works for you! Getting StartedIf you want to get the core project put together from the start:

Keeping UpIf you are taking the picture-a-day concept with Project Life, each layout will be a week's worth of pictures. One picture per day. One journaling block to coordinate with each respective picture. As you begin taking daily pictures, keep your daily images in a folder or album somewhere on your computer. Print them in small batches at your convenience. Do what works for you and your preference of printing at home or online or the local photo printer. Meanwhile, choose a journaling card to write on each day. Label the card with the day of the week (using stickers from the kit) and the date (using the date stamp from the kit). Jot something down on a journaling card each day. You could focus on the POTD (picture of the day), give an overview of what happened that day, share something that one of your kids said, have someone else in your family record their thoughts from the day, or take whatever approach you want. And every day can be different! That's part of the fun. Place the journaling cards in the page protectors. Use the grey stickers to point from your journaling card to its respective POTD, which of course you will place in the photo pockets once printed. Then place a clear day-of-the-week sticker over each picture (on top of the sheet protector) to label each picture. Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: How much does the kit cost?A: $49.99 (shipping is included in this price) Q: What is the size of the album?A: It's a 12" x 12" 3-ring binder and its total size is 14.5" wide x 13.25" tall x 3.75" thick. Q: What's the return policy?A: If you purchased the kit in November-December 2009, Becky Higgins LLC states that you have 30 days to return your new, unused kit. There will be a 30% restocking fee for items returned that have been opened. After 30 days, you may not return the kit. If you need to return a kit, email customerservice@beckyhiggins.com for further instructions. Q: Who is behind the scenes making the whole Project Life thing happen?A: My husband David and I launched Becky Higgins LLC in September 2009 after my resignation from 12 years with Creating Keepsakes magazine. Check out this blog post from December 3, 2009 where I introduced the small team of super talented folks who helped turn this little dream into a reality. Q: I noticed the bookmarks seem to be peeling.A: The monthly bookmarks in the Project Life kit have a thin protective layer on them. These are meant to be peeled off. Please do that. Q: What pen should I use for journaling?A: One that is archival and acid-free is best. Check your local craft or office supply store. Q: I'm not a scrapbooker. How much experience is needed to put this book together?A: No scrapbooking experience necessary! You just have to know how to print your photos and write a short note or caption to go along with each picture. Q: How are the title cards & journaling cards supposed to work as far as placement?A: There is no rhyme or rhythm. Just choose whatever title card you want each time you start a new layout. Same for the journaling blocks. Choose whatever card suits your mood that day. If you feel like you NEED a system (okay, so that would be me)... just get all the "like" cards and put them in piles. For example, you'll have 10 piles of title cards because there are 10 designs. Then just grab one from each pile and create some repeated pattern to your liking. That's what I have done. Q: How can I visually coordinate my journaling blocks with my photos?A: Use the grey arrow stickers that come in the kit to point from the journaling block to its photo counterpart. The arrows have that great purpose. Q: Some of the journaling cards have numbers on them, some of them don't. Does it matter where or how I use the different cards? Was the numbering just a design element?A: Yep, just a design element. But the fun part is that if it happens to work out once in a while, you can circle the date on your journaling card. Q: What font is used in the Project Life design?A: News Gothic.
