Oklahoma

I was born + raised in small town in Northern Michigan, lived in the Maryland/Washington D.C. metropolitan area for 8 years, and currently call Oklahoma home.

My family now consists of my husband Jay, our two sweet and spunky girls Ella (almost 4) and Lily (2.5) and our hairless sphynx cats Riley and Sami.

The way I use Project Life is to tell more complete stories of our family life through photos and words (lots of them), to capture the everyday details that would otherwise be forgotten, and to create albums that we love to keep out in the open and enjoy together.

To me, documenting life is just part of who I am. I began a P365 project 4 years ago and never looked back. I always have a camera with me and a way to jot down notes. I love capturing the bits and pieces of ordinary days and seeing them come together as something so much more meaningful in combination. I'm often reminded of gestalt theory- "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts".

Three things on my bucket list are:

  1. Learn how to crochet beautiful granny square quilts for each of my girls.
  2. Write and publish a series of children's books.
  3. Travel to Germany for Disney's "Once Upon a Fairytale" family vacation.

Cultivating a good life means: remembering and actively living this quote- "Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least". -Goethe
