I was born at Hill Air Force Base in Utah while my dad was in the Air Force and raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
My family now consists of... me! I'm single, but come from a large family of eight kids. The relationship I have with my family is super important to me. I have 19 nieces and nephews that make me swoon and have been subjected to my camera being pointed directly at their faces for most of their lives. And they love it. (Ha!)
The way I use Project Life is a monthly approach. Taking a photo a day isn't always my reality, but breaking it down by month and then just highlighting the photos that best represented each month is what works best for me.
To me, documenting life is second nature! Keeping a written journal hasn't ever been my strong suit, but documenting life visually, that's innate. I have always had a strong passion for photography. My camera may as well be an extra limb because I've always got one on me: my phone, my point-and-shoot, my SLR. I've been snap-happy since receiving my first camera as a young girl!
Three things on my bucket list are:
- Learn to cook
- Finish the picture wall at my parents house and get an updated family photo.
- Go to bed before midnight.
Cultivating a good life means being grateful. Recognizing where my blessings come from and showing gratitude for them regularly. Also, trying not to get distracted with meaningless time-suckers. My family, faith, friends, opportunities to serve, work (and play!) are at the top of my priority list. Oh, and laughing. Lots of laughing. No point in being unhappy when you've got a choice to be otherwise.
