mini album inspiration: wedding guest book
What: Wedding Guest Book
Who: I pulled this together for our friends who just tied the knot – Abbie + Jacob
Where: This was at the entrance of the wedding reception
Why: It’s a tradition to have guests sign in upon arrival, but how FUN is it in this format of combining pictures of the new couple with those notes of love + support – right!?
How: Simple stuff. I used the Cinnamon Mini Album (20% off thru April 5) and pulled cards from the Seafoam Edition of Project Life. I printed a bunch of photos (around 40) fro their engagement photo shoot and had those prints back from Persnickety Prints lightening fast. I even opted for the “Project Life rounded corners” that they have available. Their printing quality is gorgeous. Nothing but the best for these newlyweds.
I specifically pulled out the 3×4 cards that were versatile and “occasion-appropriate” for the context of this project. I wanted to narrow down my selection and ended up pulling a total of (80) 3×4 cards from the Core Kit.
I placed the 4×6 prints into the photo pocket pages (that come sewn into the album – yay!) so there were a couple of those for every layout.
I added the 3×4 cards and every layout also had a couple 4×6 cards – Title Cards or Grid Cards or one of each. The idea is just to give people places to write their notes and sign their names.
Using Word (on my Mac), I created 3×4 text boxes and whipped up a few “custom” cards for the album cover, title page, and last page.
Trimmed, rounded corners, done.
The album was then full of pictures, full of cards, and fully ready for the wedding reception. And as you can tell – not bulky at all.
I also typed up a “note of explanation” so the guests would know what to do. I taped a copy of this inside the album cover and put another copy in a pretty frame next to the album on the guest sign-in table.
The end result is something I think Abbie + Jacob will always treasure. Photos of them as a young, engaged couple and notes of love, support, advice, and memories from those who love them most. All in one little album. Yum.
