good life by tully reynolds
Part of cultivating a good life is appreciating the little things.
This year my husband Chris and I will celebrate ten years of marriage. Ten years! I can’t believe how fast that time has flown. From the very beginning, we have shared an appreciation of the little things. Things that happen in life that may seem small and meaningless but actually they are huge and can make your day. It’s about recognising the little wins and joys of life.
It all started with a cup of coffee. I never drank coffee until I met Chris, and now it’s one of my most favourite things. We have a pretty fancy coffee machine and I am lucky enough to have the perfect flat white made for me every morning. A little thing, like a great cup of coffee in the morning, can make you so happy.
Other wins that can make your day are:
- no queue at the bank or post office
- finding some chocolate in the house when you thought you had none
- an umbrella in your bag when it’s raining
- putting on your coat for the first time in winter and finding a few dollars
“Every day may not be good, but there is some good in every day.” I love that quote. We are not perfect and no day is perfect. In every day there are moments that are frustrating, boring, infuriating, and down right hard. I find that the little wins can often get you through and it all starts with a good cup of coffee because life is too short for bad coffee!
