favorite things with laurie

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…oh wait. Those are not a few of my favorite things, and unfortunately I am not Julie Andrews. I am Laurie and I am the digital manager at Becky Higgins, which means that you will most likely find me immersed in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on any given day. While I don’t have a catchy tune to share my favorite things, I am excited to show you what I am loving and using right now.

GOODREADS APP. One of my favorite things to do is read, and I am always looking for a good book. With the Goodreads App, you can make friends (much like Facebook), share book reviews and recommendations, organize your books into bookshelves, and enter book giveaways. One of my favorite things is to participate in the yearly Goodreads challenge. At the beginning of each year, I set a goal for the number of books I want to read. Goodreads tracks my challenge throughout the year and lets me know if I am on track to finish by the end of the year or if I need to catch up.

KNITTED BOOT CUFFS. My sister gave me a couple of pairs of these last year for my birthday from Etsy, and then we convinced my mom to knit us a couple of more pairs in different colors. A girl has to have options, right? I love the little pop of color it adds to my outfit and it gives my legs a little extra warmth on cold days, which is a total bonus for this girl who is cold all the time.

NOT YOUR MOTHER’S SEA SALT SPRAY. Confession: I hate blow drying my hair. I loathe it, especially when it is 100 degrees outside. Plus, let’s be honest, I am a little bit lazy when it comes to my hair. Unfortunately, if I left my hair to its own natural ways, I would look like Medusa. Not an awesome look. That is why I love the Not Your Mother’s Sea Salt Spray. I spray it in when my hair is damp and then I let it air dry. It helps tame my naturally wavy hair and it makes for a super easy, low-maintenance hair routine.

BLUEBERRY LEMON BARS. I stumbled upon this recipe on Pinterest about a year ago and it has been true love ever since. Lemon + blueberry + a graham cracker crust? What is not to love? Do yourself a favor and make these today. Your tummy will thank you.

POWER BEATS 2 WIRELESS IN-EAR HEADPHONES. I am a girl who needs music in her life. I love to listen to music while I work or clean, so I use headphones on a daily basis. I love these headphones because I don’t have to carry my iPhone around with me. The Bluetooth connectivity works great. I can be in another room and not worry about my headphones disconnecting. The sound is awesome and it has all of the control buttons located right on the headphones. I {heart} them.

I want to try your sea salt spray. I have wavy hair, too. How damp is your hair when you spray it? Do you spray heavy, medium, or light? Do you scrunch it or just let it air dry after spraying?

I’d love some specifics to help me figure out how to best use it.
