Becky Higgins Favorite Things

As promised, each of us on the team will take a turn to share some of our favorite things here on the blog throughout the month of October. There is no rhyme or reason to our sharing. We just each have certain things that we think make life better in one way or another … and we’re happy to share. None of this is sponsored. It’s just stuff we love.

Alright! I’m kicking things off, so here. we. go!

PERI CHARGER. My husband is great about being aware of the latest & greatest in technology. Once in a while I actually take interest in some of those gadgets. This portable charger is pretty cool with its integrated lightening cord and super flat shape that’s just smaller than my iPhone. This went with me everywhere when we were traveling around Europe this summer and I never had to worry about a dying battery. Obviously I don’t have to be traveling to appreciate it.

STONEWARE. We’ve been using Pampered Chef baking stones for at least 15 years. In my experience, they’re just awesome. The more they’re used, the more seasoned they become and the better they work. In the picture above, the really dark baking stone is our oldest and most seasoned piece. The lighter one? It’s what I use most often because I regularly bake chocolate chip banana bread as mini loaves. I hate to say it, but I’m not even sure those are still available right now (?).

LINDT CHOCOLATE. Let me be more specific — it’s the dark chocolate with a hint of sea salt that has me all … mmmmm. It’s truly so yummy. In fact, you don’t even catch the touch of salt straight away and then … there it is. So good. I keep this in my desk drawer at work and have a square or two just about every day. The obsession began while we were in Sweden back in June.

THERACANE. What the heck is this, right?? It’s a Theracane, friends, and it is awesome sauce. Here’s the deal: I learned about this tool during my recent series of physical therapy appointments. I was dealing with some pain and discomfort in my upper back and neck and physical therapy really helped me to sort through those issues (thank goodness!). This little concoction right here, strange as it looks, makes it possible for you to work through the “knots” on your back on your own, and I can tell you first hand — it works wonders. I picked this up on Amazon and let’s just say, I’m not the only one in the office who’s a fan. Yep, we bought one for the office, too!

MY iPHONE. As much as I would love to come up with something truly unique, I keep coming back to the fact that I really do love (and use) my iPhone 6 Plus so much. I do believe in taking breaks from technology, but that’s another topic for another day. I absolutely love the quality of photos I can take with this device that fits in my pocket. I super love taking pictures every day, editing those pictures (check out my editing tips), and scrapbooking those pictures using the Project Life app — all in the palm of my hand! Technology blows my mind sometimes.

Stay tuned for more favorite things from each person on our team!

Pampered Chef no longer carries the stoneware mini loaf pan, but I recently was able to buy one on ebay!

This was fun to know! Thanks! I have never heard of a Theracane.

One of my favorite things is your husband’s awesome buttermilk pancake recipe. I used to use it all the time and of course I just always looked it up on line. Now I can’t find it anymore. Can you PLEASE post it on your site again? This time I’ll definitely print it out for safe keeping!

OMG, I love my Theracane! My physical therapist told me about it too about eight months ago. Being able to work the knots out of my back have been such a relief. I love that weird looking tool so much!

You’ve got me craving that chocolate now too! Too bad it’s pouring rain (7+ inches expected!) and I have to stay in. I’m putting it on my grocery list though!

Thank you for the Theracane tip, I have had back and neck pain for years, more recently serious life inhibiting shoulder pain (comes and goes)….I’m going to give this a try.

Love my pampered chef mini loaf pan…have had it for years but just started using it more recently b/c you have raved about it so much and b/c of ur great banana mini loaf recip PL page. Thank you!

Love my iPhone6! Love it even more with the great PL App! Thanks for creating it and changing my life.

Who doesn’t love chocolate! I’ll have to investigate if this chocolate has gluten in it or not…I’m celiac so chocolate (which is my absolute favourite) had been off my diet for over a year. It’s hard to find a good gluten free chocolate. Thanks for the tip it sounds delicious!

Live going in IG for daily Scrapbooking inspiration, since none of my friends have time to scrapbook physically and they all get a weird look on their face when I show them the app, I need that daily contact and inspiration that you offer on IG. Thanks so much.

    Sincerely
    Marcia

What a fun feature. Love your list and love my iPhone and Lindt chocolate of course! I was a Pampered Chef demonstrator back in the day and have that same stoneware. It’s seen many loaves of banana and zucchini bread and is looking just like yours there, well seasoned. OK, so I need one of those chargers now too. Thanks for enabling us, haha.
