Pocket Scrapbooking with Project Life

Cultivate a good life and record it.

breaking up is hard to do…

Don’t mind us . . . we’re over here drowning our sorrows, binge watching This Is Us, and finishing off the biggest container of cookies and cream you’ve ever seen. They say breaking up is hard to do. Well, whoever the heck “they” are is right.

And yet, sometimes, in relationships and in business, moving on is what is required for growth. It’s never easy, but it’s often necessary and important as we continue to evolve and progress.

Such is now the case in our partnership with Stampin’ Up! We announced our partnership nearly 3 years ago and we’ve worked together closely to produce a line of Project Life® by Stampin’ Up! products that both companies are extremely proud of. We adore our friends at Stampin’ Up! and are so grateful for the time we’ve had to work together!!

In addition to working with members of the Stampin’ Up! team, we’ve also had the privilege to meet and engage with Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world. We consider them our “bonus family” in this partnership and are so appreciative to the fleet of demonstrators who have supported, personally used, and encouraged customers to document their memories using Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products.

So where does this leave us? Our partnership with Stampin’ Up! will be coming to an end at the close of their 2016-17 Annual Catalog year on May 31, 2017. The good news is that you have until then to grab any + all of the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products that are still available! You can order directly through their website or you can work with a local demonstrator to make a purchase.

We continue to seek after partnerships and opportunities that grow our brand and allow us to help more people cultivate a good life and record it. While we honor our past partnerships, we’re also very excited about some other things in the works. As always, we’re so thankful for you, dear customers / amazing community, for your continued loyalty.

    Man that sucks

Sorry to hear of your “breakup”. Will the su purchases we’ve made in the app still be available after 5/31?

  3. Haylee says:

What does that mean for Stampin’ Up kits available in the app?

  4. Lisa Brown says:

It’s been so much fun and a pleasure sharing this simple yet classy style of memory keeping to my Stampin’ Up! customers. Thank you, Becky and team, for your encouragement, tips, and ideas! Hugs!

  5. Becky & Team! The last 3 years having a Project Life Line with Stampin’ Up has been amazing! It has been so much fun using Project Lie with our colors and products.
Even though I am so super sad to not have this line in our line up any more I’m excited for the what the future brings. Both companies are amazing, and will continue to do good work in the memory keeping business!!!!

I’m curious about app purchases too! I would hate to lose all the ones I bought and intend to keep using in the app! Please clarify what will happen!

  7. Alissa says:

:( I’m bummed. I REALLY liked that the cards in these kits were square corners, plus the designs were awesome! Now I have to find another source for square cornered cards that aren’t in a kit.

Becky, please consider selling your physical product without the pre-rounded corners. People who love them rounded can easily do so, but us square corner gals are out of luck when they’re pre-rounded. I feel this is a corner (get it?!) of the market you’ve unintentionally bypassed. I’d love to buy your product again!

    • Jen says:

Agreed, I much prefer the square corners. I think that is why I often struggle to use my cards. You know what bothered me even more recently. I watched a process video of Becky in the app and you can choose square or rounded corners for the cards AND I was shocked to see Becky preferred square corners as it is my understanding when she started the business she preferred rounded corners. I get it that tastes change, but I would rather be given the choice that you mentioned vs being forced to have rounded corners. I wish the old blog post she did years ago was still available as to why it was her preference and be able to ask why it changed.

    • Tasha says:

I agree! Square corners please, I don’t want all the extra bits that come with the monthly kits!

  8. Susanne says:

Oh that’s a shame. I liked that those PL products matched my Stampin Up ink colors. Built in color coordination with other products is always appreciated.

  9. Jen says:

I am sad to see it come to an end as there were some cool products however I noticed the last Hello December kit wasn’t spectacular with the sale of the stamp set and the cards separately. I had a hard time ordering from them because of the high cost of shipping on lower priced orders. While I do wish some of the products there were available on your website, time will tell. There was the cool 6×8 pocket pages I had stocked up on a few years back.

I’m so sad to hear this. I’ve been a SU! user for over 20 years, and started using PL 3 years ago. I love both companies and will continue to use products from both. Going to miss the PL section in the SU! Annual Catalog.

I am a new demonstrator with Stampin’ UP! just coming up on a year now. I am heart broken! I love your line and I will continue to buy your items! We are all artists and we must have “all the things!” regardless!!!

Peace and blessings to you in your adventure ahead…I will be with you…still!

Same question as others. What happens with the kits in the app?

  14. Karie Beglau says:

We will miss having Project Life in the Stampin’ Up! Line. As a demonstrator I plan to continue sharing this style of memory keeping with my customers and teaching how to create beautiful projects. I know many of my customers will purchase PL elsewhere so I plan to help them with coordination of the two companies while continuing to teach scrapbooking.

Thanks Becky Higgins, it’s been awesome!!

  15. Patti says:

Very nice statement, sorry we are cutting ties with such a classy lady.

  16. Shelley says:

Same question as others. What happens with the kits in the app? I would hope those kits will remain in our purchased kits. Can someone confirm this please?

  17. Shelley says:

This was the answer on Facebook:
Yes, the kits will remain in the app and any kits that are not yet added will be added in the future.

  18. Florence says:

Not sure why appsters think they will be losing SU designs from the app, when they have paid for them. Doesn’t make sense! I imagine Becky has had to paid for these designs to go into the app at some stage, so they won’t be going anywhere :)

  19. Dona Stallworth says:

I’ve loved your products thru SU, but have also bought your albums, pages, cards, etc outside SU. Keep on keeping on – we’ll always find good products and yours are at the top of the list!

  20. Barbara says:

I am extremely disappointed with your reaction to the end of your contract with SU and the way your have done it.

I for one will not be purchasing any of your pl and will do alternative pl myself.

You could have and should have done it differently.

    • Tasha says:

      Really, Barbara?

Becky knows what is right for her and her business and I highly doubt she would have acted at all unprofessionally! We can’t say yes to every possible opportunity and have to choose the ones that are the right fit at the right time. Even if it is a shame, we really need to respect the decision and know that it wouldn’t have been made lightly.

    • Phyllis S says:

I don’t understand what is wrong with this announcement. It is positive, not negative, and she highlights all the good and has lots of good to say about everyone. She doesn’t even say who ended it. My stamping friends and I have always expected that it would end this year – either it was announced as a 3 year partnership or we read it somewhere. Product lines (wall vinyl, fabric, etc) that are not part of the Stamping up core of coordinated stamps, paper, ink, etc. generally have a limited run. It’s just the way it is. As a consumer, I give her props for letting people know so that they have a chance to stock up instead of people find out on June 1 or whatever, when it is too late, and then might not be able to get what they need to finish ongoing projects. Thank you, Becky.

  21. Debra Williams says:

Well said Tasha. This is business, not personal. I think her statement was very nice. That is why they have contracts. At the end of a contract both sides get to reevaluate. It’s not a sign of disrespect, it’s business. God bless her as she moves on.

  22. Tina says:

It has been an awesome ride and I will continue to use your stuff as well as SU Thank you

  23. Isabelle says:

These relationships seem to end short term, so we all should keep that in our expectations (Studio Calico, Persnickety and Stampin Up).

  24. Jennie says:

I’ve had so much fun personally using Project Life things as planner pieces. Your quality and designs are really great. Thanks for including Stampin Up demonstrators in your post :)
Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for everyone!

  25. Dianne says:

I am not surprised that the partnership will be over soon. SU has not been supporting scrapbookers for a few years now. PL is another form of scrapbooking or memory keeping.

I personally am very sad. I am a SU demonstrator and liked the fact that the two products were coordinated . Becky, thanks for the three years. I shall certainly continue to buy PL .

    • Stacy says:

I agree with you on SU turning its back on scrapbookers.. I have been a demonstrator for 10 years and every year there is less and less. I truly loved the PL items and will miss them. Wish SU would offer more 12×12 paper. Every business makes a choice as to what is best for them but seems that my interests and SU’s are going in different directions..Good luck to Becky!

  26. Megan says:

What a lovely announcement. It has been a wonderful partnership with some beautiful card sets and of course, those square corners that many love. Thank you for the amazing ranges over the last few years and while it is sad, it is appreciated that you kept us in the loop. Kindest regards.

I love your app. Keep up the good work :-)

  29. Thanks for the update! I love both companies…… and I am so glad we know about the break-up in advanced!

  30. To everything there is a season. <3

  31. Gail says:

SO sorry to hear this!! I loved how everything “meshed” together!! I will miss both companies working together. Thank you for letting us know and we will continue to use PL!

  32. Jamie Reed says:

SU demonstrators were asked not to share anything about the end of the contract until the 5/31. Would have been nice if Becky held up her end of the deal. :( I’m excited about the new SU memory keeping products though!! Why assume SU is turning their backs on scrapbookers?

    • Race Ashby Race Ashby says:

While SU demonstrators were indeed asked not to share anything about the end of the contract for a while longer, Becky was specifically permitted to share this information precisely when she did. And we are also excited about the new SU memory keeping products! Our parting is very amicable, and we wish SU all the best!

  33. Leanne says:

So sorry to hear this. It’s going to make it even more difficult to get our hands on beautiful PL products here in Australia. I know we are only a very small market here but we love PL. Spotlight stores do not stock enough product and run out all the time, not to even begin with how messy the stores are and not cared for. SU was a lifeline to be able to get PL from demonstrators who REALLY cared about PL and memory keeping. Perhaps you could consider selling direct to Australia with different shipping prices. I know this is a lot of cost/work but I don’t want to see anymore friends say its just too difficult to PL anymore. Maybe talk with Ali Edwards about her wonderful system. I order from her regularly and it’s easy and price effective. Please don’t let this be the end of PL in Australia – we love you here!!!
