best of 2016
You know . . . I am so grateful that you are HERE and that you continue to read our blog. We do this for you and that’s it. If you stopped reading, we would stop sharing. So thank you. It’s always fun to look back at a year’s worth of blog posts and today we’re re-capping the most popular posts from 2016. In no particular order, here are the top 10 blog posts from this year! If you missed any of them or want to read any blog posts again, just click on the title to take you there.
This summer I received some news that stopped me in my tracks. I am pretty good about “listening to my body” and that’s what led to a skin cancer diagnosis. We did not waste a minute in taking care of things and everything is clear now. My message in this post really comes down to paying close attention to anything that doesn’t seem right and being your own advocate.
Flying to Kansas to help Jennifer Johnson, who was the winner of a contest we did, was definitely a big highlight from this year. It was our first official “Project Photo Rescue” and you guys seemed to really enjoy following along. The blog post was a re-cap of how I helped Jennifer figure out how to get a handle on all of her memory keeping, but the greater goal was that anyone reading the post would be able to gain insights for themselves.
Your enthusiasm about our new brand was so exciting — thank you! We had been keeping this project pretty secret for quite some time and when the time was right, we shouted it from our cyberland rooftops. Because of your awesome response, we expanded our original Stone Wrap product offering to include Christmas patterns in time for the holidays … and of course we have even more on the way, so stay tuned for more exciting things to come for this brand in 2017.
We have learned that you guys really love to see how others are using Project Life! I am constantly inspired by how others manage their own scrapbooking approach and workflow, and of course we’re happy to share. This post by Kaitlin was highly motivating and very informative. Clearly so many of you loved it as much as we did and it sounds like we need to do more posts like this in 2017, too!
I never could have imagined how interesting you might find a day in my (relatively) normal life! This isn’t the first time I’ve done something like this, but it had been a while so it was time. As a life documenter, this sort of “project” is so natural and really fun and certainly I’d encourage you to try it too.
Yesterday I shared my thoughts related to new year’s resolutions. This time last year I shared even more and it ranks in our top 10 because you were intrigued, interested, and ultimately motivated (I think) by the thoughts I shared that really play into the goal-setting mentality that so many of us have this time of year.
In May, I headed to Florida to go on-air at HSN (Home Shopping Network). It wasn’t my first time selling products on a major TV shopping channel, but it was my first time selling my OWN products — Project Life! This blog post was the run-down on what I was going to be selling so you guys had a heads-up. The experience was stressful, exciting, nerve-wracking, and in a weird way, a little bit “natural” too. Thank you again to so many of you who tuned in to watch . . . and even purchase. I felt your support and it made a huge difference.
We have a different guest on the blog each Sunday for our weekly “Good Life” feature. This particular post by Amy Tan was very much loved by so many of you. Amy is a long time colleague and “industry friend” of mine, and we have also partnered with her popular Amy Tangerine brand on Project Life products. Anyway, in her guest post Amy talks about learning to be grateful for all that we have and all that we don’t have. Her story is powerful.
The iOS 10 update in 2016 was a pretty big one for those on the iOS platform. There were definitely some things that some of us had a hard time getting used to. Tech expert (also my brother) Kevin put on his cape and came to the rescue as he shared some tips and tricks for navigating the new iOS. We all appreciated his tips and insights and left his blog post feeling a little smarter. ; )
We were ALL waiting on pins and needles for this launch. And boy was it exciting! Our Android customers were finally able to scrapbook in the palm of their hands when we launched last year on Leap Day!
Okay … I’m sharing 11 because just last week (barely squeezing it in for 2016) we added a blog post that very much fits in the Top 10 and if you haven’t already checked it out, it’s worth your time as a documenter: Becky’s Memory-keeping Resolutions for 2017.
We love covering a variety of topics here on the blog but always want to stay true to what’s at the core of our company mission statement: Cultivate a good life and record it. Certainly we would love to hear from you with any thoughts on what you would like to see us blog about in 2017. We’re always very open and receptive to your feedback.
Thank you again for being a part of our company and our story. This week kicks off a brand new year and we are grateful that you are continuing this journey with us.
