app questions & answers part 2
A couple weeks ago we answered a few of the major questions that were being asked about the upcoming Project Life® App (see that post here). Today we’re addressing even more of your questions. Please keep in mind the app has not yet launched, so much of what you’re wondering about will all be revealed at that time. We are in “beta phase” right now which is where we’re finding any last issues that need to be worked out and tweaking a few more things to get it just perfect for you when it becomes available.
Q: How much will the app cost?
A: We’ll be able to officially announce that when the app launches, but I can tell you this: I think you’ll be very pleasantly surprised with the small price tag on an app that packs quite a punch!
Q: We know you announced that this would be released for iPhone/iPad users first and also available for Android several months later. What about the Windows phone?
A: I’m sorry – no. Developing an app is a lot of work for Apple devices and a tremendous amount of work for Android devices. Together, those make up the vast majority of the market, whereas the Windows mobile products are a tiny percentage of the market.
Q: Will this be available internationally?
A: Yes! The Project Life App will be available for purchase through the Apple App Store for your iPhone or iPad at launch time.
Q: What kits are included with the app?
A: Over the past five years, we have released more collections for Project Life than we can count … but we have indeed counted them … and we do intend to include almost all of them in the app over time. Some will come with the app. Some will be in-app purchases for a super affordable price.
Q: Can we use Digital Project Life kits that we already have purchased with the Project Life app?
A: Technically? Sure you can! Your digital files can be accessed from the app if you want to do it that way. But it’s not nearly as simple as using the app 100%. We’ll explain more about this at launch time and even share a few tips & tricks for those of you with digital files that want to work with what you already own. I promise this will all make a lot more sense when you SEE the app in action.
Q: Will the finished pages print as 12″ x 12″? Will there be other size options available?
A: We are still finalizing our print option portion of the app, so these are more details we will confirm at launch time. But yes — you can save your pages completed in the app and print them from there! And yes, the quality is excellent for up to 12″ x 12″ print size.
Q: Can I share my pages via social media or through text and emails?
A: Absolutely! You can save your finished pages and there is an option to share via text, email, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram! In fact, if you search #ProjectLifeApp on social media right now (particularly Instagram), you’ll see lots of sharing already happening. That’s from our beta testers.
Q: Will we be able to upload our own fonts?
A: Not at this time. But there will be several fonts – traditional, classic, modern, even a few that are handwritten – that are available in the app. We think you’ll love them!
Q: Can I download this app to my Mac?
A: No, it’s just for mobile devices. If you want to explore digital scrapbooking on your computer, we have everything you need already in place at DigitalProjectLife.com.
Q: Will I be able to use the app offline?
A: Yes! It works using the photos from your device and the kits within the app, so you can build pages while offline.
As I’ve mentioned before, we don’t / can’t know an actual launch date for the app just yet. As we get closer, I’ll continue to share a few sneak peeks of sample pages on social media here and there — not to tease but to show you results so you can become more familiar with what the app does. Meanwhile, we’re working very hard behind the scenes to get this app in tip-top shape. Nothing but the BEST for you guys. You’ll be using this app for your memory keeping … so we don’t take this lightly at all.
