app announcement

Ahhhhhh!

We can officially announce the Project Life App! This is really happening. And I’m not just announcing it … I’m shouting it from the roof tops! Well … not really. This is just me on my computer – writing to you on your computer (or phone). But it’s all the same, right? This is how we can broadcast the news across the world in this day and age … and we are over-the-moon excited!

I can pretty much hear your questions — When is this app coming out? What does it do? How can I get this on my phone straight away?

This is what I can tell you: It’s coming soon. Not next week … but not as late as Christmas. I know that’s super vague. The reason is because it’s impossible for us to know the exact timing and I don’t want to promise something and then have you feel disappointed if we need to shift things around. The most important thing is that we get this app perfect for you. And we’re getting close.

The Project Life App is something that David and I have been working on in our heads for a few years but it was never the the right time. Now is the time. We have a whole team of people who are helping to make this a reality. My heart wants to explode because this has been such a labor of love and to be able to actually announce this is a really big deal for us. Five years ago we created Project Life® because of my own personal challenges and desires as a scrapbooker. I needed the process to be simpler. So we brought it to the masses.

This app is another game changer.

The Project Life App is the result of my constant desire to simplify scrapbooking – for me and for you. I genuinely hope that it rocks your memory-keeping world in the best possible way. As we get closer to the actual launch, we will tell you all about it. You will soon learn what it’s about, how it works, and why you need it.

If you’re anxious for more information my best advice is that you stay current here on my blog and / or with my social media sharing. I am very active on facebook, twitter, and instagram and people who are following me in any of those places are always the first to hear of any news, announcements and fun anecdotal tips.

So … are you excited?!

Awesome Becky!!!! Hopefully will be able to slip photos from my iPhone to the proper pocket pages, then send them off to print! Can’t wait to hear more! Maybe a direct line to shop too?
    God Bless !!!

  2. Tracey mason says:

I really hope it’s not just for iPhone? I’m missing out on to many good apps through my phone preference already :-(

    • m says:

Yes please tell me this will be available for android users as well!

    • Toni says:

Yes, PLEASE have this for Android too! I love my droid, but sometimes feel left out with the apps.

    • Debbie says:

Another one chiming in for Android please!

Me too! Android google play please,

    • paulainauckland says:

me too! we want android! I’ll even be a beta tester :) take one for the team

    • Denise P says:

Ditto! If it’s taking this long to develop, I really am hoping that it will include the android (worries me because I know she is such a big supporter of iphone). I hope there is a photo collage function in there…among other things. So many things it could be useful for those of us with several apps if they were able to put it all into one place…if it ends up only on the iphone…hubby better be planning on downloading it since he has a work one.

    • Desiree says:

      Another android vote!!

      Add my Android vote!

    • Beth R says:

PLEASE make this avaialble for all of us droid users out here !!
I realize you are a mac / apple family but you have a huge audience out here that use android. I JUST bought a new phone 4 days ago. I debated for 6 months of making the switch to iphone, only because of the apps available ( and all the cute accessories), but decided to stick with what I know, please don’t make me regret my decision…..please.

  3. Leslie says:

Oh my gosh! This will be amazing! I like Rosa’s idea of being able to arrange our photos on the app, so then when we have them printed, we can just follow our pre-set arrangements. That part always takes me forever! Whatever you do will be amazing! :D

  4. Allyson says:

I agree with Tracey – would love to see this for Android! (Actually, almost everyone I know uses Android so I never get the iPhone only thing!)

  5. Maribel says:

Yes please, make one for android too!

  6. Tori says:

That’s so thrilling – my iPhone and my heart say thank you. I wish this post was a bit more detailed around what the app is going to do but I guess I’ll just have to wait like I have to wait for Christmas – anticipation building. Can’t wait.

  7. Dee says:

Did I miss the info part of the video– the one I saw only has yellow and white balloons being recorded? Any information in that video?

  8. Charlotte says:

Awesome! I cannot wait!! Love, love, LOVE!

  9. Cyndie says:

Just when I think Project Life cannot get any better!!! I love this idea and I will be first in line!!

  10. Toni Chase Toni Chase says:

So happy you are all excited! All of the details about the app, how it works, and when it will be available will be coming soon! ~ Toni @ Becky Higgins

  11. Heather says:

I hope it has a photo editing part and a journaling part. Keeping up with the journaling is the hardest part for me!

    • Stacey M. says:

I’ve always hoped to be able to journal on my phone on a PL card without using photoshop and then just print it like I do my photos. I know that gives me a lot of extra cards from the core kit but I’d love to be able to just download my IG/Twitter/FB posts as my journal and print with the photo.

  12. Kim Bourque says:

To the Android users, while I have no clue if there will be a PL app for Andriod, I do know the “iPhone only” thing is due to the various screen sizes and that makes it tough for developers, hence taking extra time. iPhones have two screen sizes to-date therefore making it so much easier to design an app.

On another note, I’m so pumped! Can’t wait to see what the app will actually do!

    • Denise P says:

Then that would be a good reason for it taking longer, no? I know that we tend to feel left out because they release an iphone version and then it takes an eternity for it to come out for android…perhaps they are trying to keep it more fair (and fend off a riot) but making sure they are both released simultaneously. That’s my hope, anyway.

  13. Tracy says:

Oh my gosh. This is like being a kid and told you get to go to Disneyland, but it won’t be next week yet it will be before Christmas! Argh! I’m not good at waiting! Super exciting news though!!

  14. diana says:

You should do custom core kits!..choose the amount you want and all the designs that’s available in the different kits you have in one yay!!

  15. Kim guffey says:

    Woohoo

  16. MsScrapmess says:

OMG!!! So excited!! Are always looking in app store for PL planner etc – please tell me it won’t cost that much :) Would love something that could help you plan your spreads with pocket design, photos and journaling. Can’t wait to see more sneak peaks ;)

  17. Ily Figueroa says:

YAY!!!!!!!! From the roof tops in Fort Lauderdale Florida =)

  18. HeatherO says:

I think I’m going to cry.
    Seriously

  34. Karen L says:

Ooh great. Not sure if you are taking requests, but I do have one. :) I have so many kits now. I would love some way to look for an image or sentiment on a Project a life card online. For example, if I am looking for a card with clouds or eyeglasses, I would love to be able to type that in to a computer or IPad, and then it would tell me what kit I could find that type of card in. I know I can see the cards from the kitson the digital Project Life site. If there was an app where I could just type in what type of Project Life card that I am looking for, it would really help me, and probably lots of others too. I spend a good amount of time trying to remember which kit has a certain card, and more time actually doing that sometimes than actually crafting. Anyway, hoping at some time an app might be created that included this.
Thanks for listening (well reading anyway:))

  35. It has to be for Android? Thank you!

    Yay, iPhoners!!!

  55. Fonda Ross says:

    So excited

  56. Desiree says:

An Android app would be great. But to be honest it’s hard to get excited about something when we know nothing about what it will do or cost. This announcement was incredibly vague. I hope the ACTUAL announcement of what the app does will be more exciting.

  57. Pheeebzzz says:

As an international customer, I already feel I miss a lot (+ shipping costs is the main reason why I stick to digital PL only when I’d love to give hybrid a try) so I hope that the app won’t be i-phone only but will also be available on android…
Otherwise, yes, this announcement is pretty exciting but…. I would have love a bit more details :)

  58. Amy r. says:

I hope I can “write” on my photos and easily send them to print!

  59. Toni Cunningham says:

Oh I wish it were here already!!!!! Android user here!

  60. Amy says:

I swear you read my mind. I found your website years ago shortly after telling my mother-in-law that I wished someone would make a simplified scrapbook kit where you just pick a theme and add photos and maybe a few little embellishments if wanted. She told me, they do make theme scrapbook kits, and I said they weren’t what I meant. I didn’t want an empty standard album with coordinating paper and items that required me to do all the cutting and page layout designing…I wanted something simpler. When I stumbled upon your blog/website, I was so excited because it was exactly what I had been thinking about. Then just a couple years ago, I mentioned to my husband that I wish there was an app for putting together simple scrapbooks because I don’t like to haul my laptop around and most of my photos are digital, but I wanted to be able to scrapbook a little when I had free time while traveling or over my lunch hour. Again, it seems you have just the product I had in mind! Thank you!!

  61. Kristen H. says:

Super awesome and exciting! Can’t wait to try it out!

  62. C.Robin says:

    Looking forward to it :)

  63. Heather B. says:

I think it’s pretty clear from all the comments that there HAS to be an Android version!! Don’t disappoint us!!

  64. Odessa Enox-Whitaker says:

You Rock…push me right into modern technology one app at a time…. Congrats on your ongoing success…

  65. I’m very excited!
If it’s good, which I don’t doubt, I will mention it in our Swedish podcast Papperspodden.
Our next episode will be about Project Life. :)

  66. Rachael says:

I REALLY hope that it will also be available for Windows phones.

  67. Teresa says:

Excited to read the news but based on a ton of Apps out there I’m guessing it will be for Apple & Droid users & window users will be left behind… hoping for the best but that’s my guess .. Any input on this as of yet?

  68. Mary says:

Hope it allows you to add text to your photos- that would be awesome!

  69. Pam says:

    Can’t wait! :-)

  70. Martina says:

Can’t wait!!! When will the app come on the App Store? It will be available also in the Italian store? Thank you!!!

  73. Meridith says:

magnificent put up, very informative. I ponder why
the other specialists of this sector don’t realize this.
You should proceed your writing. I am sure, you’ve a great readers’ base
    already!

  74. Pam Catlett says:

    How do I get app
