Texas

I was born + raised in the small town of Alice, Texas, raised in Austin, Texas but felt like I was home when I went to Texas A&M and lived in College Station, Texas.

My family now consists of my best friend of eleven years and husband of nine years, Mitch; my oldest son Garrett who is rocking the 1st grade and my 17 month old son Owen, who I swear is part billy goat.

The way I use Project Life is to capture the details that would otherwise live in boxes and online that make up my crazy, chaotic, beautiful life. I approach Project Life from a week's perspective and focus on capturing the essence of our life as opposed to the events.

To me, documenting life is necessary. It is obvious that this project, all projects, will increase in value and meaning as my family changes and the boys grow older. However, the subtle beauty is that documenting life nudges me to celebrate my life, while I am living it, and in turn I cultivate a greater depth of gratitude for my blessings.

Three things on my bucket list are:

  1. a house full of children's laughter
  2. a trip to Ireland with Mitch
  3. and making a cathedral window quilt

Cultivating a good life means keeping the focus on my life. In this era of status updates, blogs, twitter feeds and instagram it is all too easy to fall into the trap of comparing my life to others. I can find myself falling into this trap all too often. Project Life helps me bring my focus back to my life and that is a very good thing.
