a valentine’s gift for YOU

We’ve been cooking up something special as a Valentine’s Day gift for YOU – our readers, customers, friends.

QUICK BACK STORY

I’m really not creative in the kitchen. I certainly don’t make up new recipes. But I do love to share. So over the years, even though cooking and baking really have nothing to do with our company and products … I’ve shared some favorite recipes. I used to be better about it and then the all-consuming business of … running a business … took priority over many of the “fun extras.”

I am so thankful for how our little team has grown, which has allowed David and I to carry less of the day-to-day “business burdens” on our shoulders these days. We used to wear every hat in the business, and now we are able to put our trust in a lot of people (not just our core team, but everyone at American Crafts, Studio Calico, Amazon, and several other partners) to do their job and do it well.

So what does this have to do with recipes? Well … if it weren’t for the expansion of the Project Life Family, I would absolutely not have the ability or time to pull off some of the “fun extras” that are now being sprinkled back on the blog these days. This year I’ve been able to re-visit what I love most about doing a blog, which is to share inspiring ideas about cultivating a good life and recording it.

Notice these buttons on my blog? If you’re looking for Project Life inspiration, click on the green button. If you’re looking for inspiration from home (including organization, recipes, and other ideas that come literally from my home) … that would be the turquoise button. And the yellow button? That’s for inspiration on cultivating a good life, which is a series we have on the blog each Sunday.

Where was I?

RECIPES

Yes. Recipes! I am soooo excited to “bring back” many of the recipes that once existed on my site. We had taken them down during a ginormous “clean up” on the site, but bit by bit, we’re adding things back – and this time, it’s all better than ever.

Here’s the twist on my recipe sharing now: From now on, they’re in our brand-new Project Life format – hooray! Last week I announced this new thing we’re doing so be sure to check that out if you missed the explanation.

Bottom line: Go get your gift! It’s free! Which would mean you can find it in the … FREEBIES section, of course. Right there at the top of the page you’ll see a whole bunch of new recipe cards, all which are recipes pulled from my old site. Today we are sharing 14 new recipe cards because it’s February 14th. Looking for a recipe that I haven’t yet “brought back”? Stay tuned. This is the blog that just keeps giving.  : )

We LOVE you. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love Project Life! I am new to this system, been scrapbooking since early 90’s, went to card making for years, and I am back to scrapbooking, and I just love, love, love this systems!!!! The recipes, wow, I am not a cook but love having recipes in my kitchen for that time I just might actually cook….now I think I actually can turn on the stove……I will be careful though, certainly do not want the family to think I have gone crazy again….thank you Becky for this easy, and just wonderful system!

Just curious when the albums will be available to use for the recipe binder to put the cards into?

    • Priscilla says:

      Gail,
I believe that the new PL 6×8 albums are already out…at least at Micheal’s stores. And the 6×8 inserts for PL cards are also available, which is where you can put these recipe cards. Enjoy!

Thank you! Isn’t funny how some things happen? After loosing my scrapbooking mojo years ago – mainly because I became overwhelmed with all of my supplies – I had been watching the PL “revolution” for a few years and thought, “I don’t need to invest in more supplies that I won’t use”. However, after really researching and thinking it through I realized that it is the BEST solution! Watching your rebroadcasts on Creative Live was the turning point for me – just seeing it in action and not being wooed by the just “the pretty stuff”! I started it this year and find it liberating – almost like losing weight (Ha – I wish that was as easy as PL)!

Full circle, I had printed off the Taco Soup recipe years ago and have made it many times. I made it again on Thursday – perfect meal for our snowstorm! As I was making it, I was thinking that I wish I had another copy of my well-loved (aka stained) recipe. I even thought about emailing you and requesting it in your new recipe format that I had downloaded (I already purchased your new 6×8 album and pages); what do you know – you read my mind!

Thank you Becky! Your commitment and your generosity has made a difference in so many ways. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

    Fondly,
    Karen

  19. Monica says:

Thanks for adding the recipes back.

A quick note – I found your O’Henry recipe a few years ago and every time I make them people go crazy. I go to an annual BBQ and before I even get a chance to put them down, people are eating them.

  22. Jennifer says:

    Adorable. Love! Thank you! :)
